What was the highlight of Mercure Lille Centre Vieux Lille
It was harder than it had to be
Family room was big, with the children’s bed and toilet downstairs and adults bed and shower upstairs on a separate balcony floor. It was nice to have two separate spaces. The room had a balcony you could look out from.
The shower took a long time to heat up, having to run the water for at least 5 minutes. Staff were apologetic about that. The children’s bed was a fold out couch, which would usually have been fine, but it was in bad shape, incredibly lumpy and creaky. The kids really struggled to get to sleep and the creaking woke them up in the night when one kids rolled over. The room was about 26 degrees (it was only about 20 outside) and the air con was loud and not that effective. We ended up removing the duvet inners and using the covers alone. The toilet was downstairs, but the only sink was upstairs, meaning we had to go up the stairs to wash hands each time.

Excellent hotel and great location.
Location was the best, on the pedestrian area with the nicest restaurants. Great breakfast, plentiful. Good choices and quality. Staff always cleaning and replenishing. We liked the family duplex room as it was quirky.
Family room loo was separate to bathroom, with no sink. Could do with another mirror somewhere in room.
